But the biggest change is in the type of holidays we’re taking with wellness breaks that incorporate health and fitness seeing a huge increase. The great thing about this type of holiday is that it can complement your regular training programme and you return from you break revitalised, refreshed and ready for anything. Here are 5 health and fitness breaks you could be taking this autumn/winter.

  1. North Rock Beach House, Cornwall

With a whole host of daily group classes on offer including Muay Thai, TRX, core training, beach bootcamp circuits and HIIT workouts, as well as detox friendly raw vegan cuisine, meditation and mindfulness workshops and even the option of a daily ice bath, this is a complete wellness experience. You can also opt to see a little of the island with excursions, including one on a traditional Thai long tail boat.

  1. Boot camp in Marbella, Spain

From hikes through the Andalucian countryside and intense fitness classes to a therapeutic nutritional programme, the New You Boot Camp runs in October and November 2017. Billed as a ‘flexible boot camp’, the organisers say you can choose to train at every opportunity or take time to relax and enjoy a massage, watch a cookery demonstration or just chill by the pool.

  1. New parent break in Morocco

Becoming a parent is one of the most life-changing experiences you can have, but it doesn’t have to derail your fitness. &Breathe has a Winter Sun retreat coming up in Morocco in March 2018 for new parents, their new babies (and siblings up to 5 years old).
